I was listening while my seventeen year old son was talking to his girlfriend on the phone. He asked her when was the last time your mom said, I love you to you or you said it to her? She said, it's been a while. My son told her that on a daily basis that we exchange I love you with each other. He told her that my mom could be in a coma sleep and every morning on his way to school, she tells me she loves me. My son said if we miss a day, the day doesn't feel right. My heart leaped with pure joy!!
I broke the generational curse with my children. I rarely heard I love you in my household. My dad was a long distance truck driver and my mother middle name was Abusive. The words I love you was rarely spoken. I made it my mission to change this policy with my children.
In my adult life I went searching for love in the wrong places, but with the birth of my sons I experienced a love that I will never let go of. My sons connected me to Christ. Christ love is unconditional. If you don't know Christ, please search for him because he can be found. In conclusion, Stevie Wonder sung a song about these three words, I Love you and he said these three words will always be here so will you please say them to your loves?
