Dear Diane may the Lord bless and keep you make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you turn his face toward you and give you peace, comfort, healing and favor in Jesus name!
You've got this Diane. Concentrate on eating lots of meat & eggs. Cut out all the junk completely.
My son was diagnosed type 1 a couple of years ago, he's 24. It's gets much more complicated for type 1 but I can advise the above. Skimmed milk, no pasta, no rice, no cakes or pastry, no bread.
All the best.

Reach out for help wherever you can. It's OK to temporarily accept help. Once you are fully recovered, you will be able to go back to work. Many churches offer assistance and you don't have to be a member of the congregation. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society may also be able to help with one rent or mortgage payment. Contact your county's housing organization. Pay your most important bills first--payments for the roof over your head and utilities you can't do without. You can also start a temporary "Go Fund Me" account. Your recovery will take longer if you don't take the pressure off of yourself. Anyone in your household who is able to earn money needs to do that right now. I wish you a speedy recovery. Do what you can and then let the Lord take care of the rest. He will.
Philippians 4:19 KJV - 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
